Retired Educators to Meet
The Orange County Retired Educators Association will meet Thursday, January 8 at 10 a.m. at College Park United Methodist Church, 644 W. Princeton Street, Orlando, FL 32804. Holidays at the Waterhouse
Experience a Victorian Christmas as the historic house museum, the Waterhouse Residence Museum, is tranformed for the holidays. Vocal Competition

Tax-Aide Volunteers Needed
Volunteers are needed for AARP’S Tax-Aide Program. Tax-Aide counselors help prepare tax returns and assist with filing requirements for older taxpayers and others. Individuals with an aptitude for tax preparation, experience in filing personal returns and good communication skills are urged to sign up. AARP membership is not required to be a volunteer with this program. Volunteer counselors are trained by AARP in cooperation with the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). Citrus Float Decorating Volunteers Needed
The Spherion Orlando Citrus Parade depends on the help and support of hundreds of volunteers (in fact over 700) each year to make the parade happen. From December 26-29, they require the help of volunteers to attach over 100,000 pieces of citrus to this year’s signature citrus floats. The event is fun and exciting and is a great group activity. The event is held at the Orange County Convention Center and requires no special skills. Volunteers must be at least 10 years of age. The Children’s Rights Foundation, Inc.
To better serve our clients and community, the Children’s Rights Foundation, Inc. is opening a thrift store. Operating a store will also allow them to expand their food pantry in the same location. The store opens for business on December 1. All net proceeds will benefit the Children’s Rights Foundation, Inc., and their programs for at-risk children, families and the prevention of child abuse. NarAnon Support for Family/Friends of Addicts

Afterschool Enrichment Program
Orange County Parks and Recreation offers Rec n’ Roll, an afterschool program for children in grades kindergarten to high school. The program is free, excluding the cost of some field trips. Rec n’ Roll features organized activities, sports clinics, and arts and crafts. Tutoring and homework help are also available. Rec n’ Roll program hours are Monday through Friday 2:30 to 6 p.m. During the winter the hours are from 2:30 to 5:30 p.m., and the program is open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on days when school is not in session. Line Dancing Classes
The Marks Street Senior Recreation Complex will be hosting new Ultra Beginner’s Line Dancing classes free of charge.
